Cotton Holdings, Inc. is hiring a Tax Manager to be located at the Company’s headquarters in City Centre in Houston. The successful candidate with be responsible for overseeing the Company’s tax functions including tax compliance and overall tax planning.
Reports to: The position will report to the CFO and EVP – Financial Operations.
Job Location: Houston, Texas
Preparation of quarterly/monthly sales and use tax filings.
Preparation of annual reports
Handle and resolve IRS and state inquiries and notices.
Liaise and assist external tax advisor on preparation of quarterly tax estimates and year-end income tax provision.
Liaise with external tax advisor on international, federal and state income tax compliance including managing the workflow, compiling data, coordinating the review of international, federal and state income tax returns.
Prepare research and computational analysis of US tax issues and considerations about transactions and planning initiatives.
Stay current in continuous changes in the US and International tax laws and the application and interpretation thereof.
Disseminate information regarding new tax developments to finance leaders and other impacted groups within the company to create new tax reduction opportunities.
Serve as trusted business and tax advisor to divisional personnel and advise on US and state matters, collect information regarding business changes and identifies tax-efficient structures to accommodate business needs.
Coordinates external tax advise as it relates to tax planning initiatives.
Manage 1099 filing process
Maintain strong working relationships with strategic finance and business planning and participate in budgeting, forecast and other forward-looking modeling processes.
Working with external advisors, develop, coordinate and manage international transfer pricing strategies and opinions.
Manage tax audit positions and defense.
Manage all aspects of property tax, including preparation and filing of renditions and appeals of appraised values.
Education: Degree in Accounting & CPA required, Master’s degree in taxation preferred.
Experience: 6 to 10 years of progressive tax experience, with a preference of at least 3 years in Big 4 public accounting.
Ability to directly identify and tackle critical issues; effectively utilize knowledge of sound business and technical operations practices; adeptly work under pressure.
Able to manage multiple activities timely with a high degree of accuracy.
Driven to deliver quality results on time with a high degree of integrity and in a highly ethical and professional manner.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Strong data management skills; ability to audit, format, model and analyze large data sets.
Proficient knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
