Job Summary:
The Business Intelligence & Analytics Specialist develops reports to support the Alliance’s business needs, from initial requirements gathering through delivery of complex production reports.

Responsibilities:
Working with users to analyze data requirements and develop reports supporting senior managers, administrative and finance staff, statisticians, data managers, and other Alliance members
Gathering report requirements from end users
Developing complex, production level reports which adhere to standardized requirements
Optimizing reports for maximum re-usability
Data Compilation, analysis and reporting
Maintaining reports, including alterations and migrations, as required
Develop and produce reports for grants management, membership performance monitoring, financial system and protocol management
Assists in determining the impact of making database changes on other systems
Ensures consistency and reliability of data
Works with the user community by responding to special data needs and questions. Designs reports and files to display requested information
Produces Ad Hoc reports
Knowledge of relational database design and application design/development methodologies
Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Understanding of data reports, report models, good data practice, and the impact of data decisions on practical operation of business applications
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers

Additional Requirements

Education and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required

Experience:
Experience administering, analyzing and /or developing relational data bases
Experience with application development
Some clinical research desired
SQL programming experience
Crystal Reports development experience

Technical Knowledge or Skills:
Understanding of data issues, data models, good data practice, and the impact of data decisions on practical operation of business applications
Data Analytics
Strong database concepts knowledge base
Fundamental SQL proficiency with working knowledge of advanced SQL
