Full Job Description
The Human Resources Manager position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues.

Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. Maintain documentation and records and represent the organization at hearings
Manage, mentor, coach and develop the Human Resources Business Partners in the location
Provide day-to-day guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Execute counseling, performance improvement plans, terminations and exit interviews
Oversee recruiting for exempt and nonexempt positions
Create and maintain job descriptions and ensure job posting process is utilized to obtain the most qualified candidates
Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Create and analyze reports, metrics, and results of department in relation to established goals
Develop, recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
Train and influence leaders to improve employee engagement while instilling the TVS culture
Complete special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
Oversee the recording for OSHA incidents and Worker's Compensation claims
Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Knowledge of human resources programs including compensation, health and welfare benefits, records management, as well as safety and health
Experience in union environment, to include interpreting and negotiating labor contracts, handling Grievances and Unfair Labor Practices charges
Train and coach HR Business Partners and line management on managing in a union environment
Serve as a trusted advisor to the division's senior leadership
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
Regular and reliable attendance at work

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to high forklift traffic. The employee is required to be PPE dressed: steel toed shoes and safety glasses when on warehouse floor. This position is 90% office environment and 10% warehouse environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full Time. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.
This position will manage the Human Resource Business Partners for the location.
Occasional travel between locations.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and ten years of human resource experience, or fifteen years of experience in the HR field
Master's degree and/or PHR certification preferred
Minimum five years of experience in a union environment
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of EEOC, NLRB and OSHA regulations
