Position Summary: The Marketing and Community Relations Manager is responsible for formulating, directing, and executing marketing activities that result in the positive growth and development of our respected brand.

Essential Functions/Areas of Responsibility:
Digital Marketing:
- Manage and execute social media programs and platforms
- Oversee and recommend digital media spend
- Manage presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, etc.
- Monitor trends, spend, conversions, CAC, etc..
Customer Journey & Events Marketing
- Create internal and external events to build traffic and loyalty
- Manage promotional calendars
- Ensure compliance of brand guidelines
- Manage client referral program
- Manage promotional giveaways and inventory
Website and Online Presence:.
- Monitor, edit, and update the company website (experience with Google Analytics and SEO is a plus).
- Generate and monitor online customer reviews
- Generate and manage client video testimonials
- Create and manage digital images
- Work with web design/hosting vendors
Community Relations & Community Events:
- Manage company fundraising for local dog-only non-profits.
- Educate employees on community responsibility- including DogiZone “do good” days
- Strategize and create public education workshops.
- Create and maintain outreach and events calendar to increase community visibility
- Oversee sustainability/environmentally friendly image as part of doing what is best for the community
- Help implement as many “green” practices to enhance positive public image
- Visit Various Locations: Visit veterinarians, apartment complexes, residential developments, etc.
- Relationship Development: Develop and nurture relationships with vets, staff, residents, etc.
- Promotional Activities: Leave promotional info at locations.
- Increase Visibility: Look for chances to make DogiZone known among vets, staff, residents, etc.
- Engage with Non-Profits: Develop and nurture relationships with local shelters, rescue groups, and other non-profit agencies.
- Execute events: Handle registration, setup, client information gathering, follow-up, and success evaluation.
- Manage exhibits: Organize and staff exhibits at events and functions.
- Represent DogiZone: Attend events and meetings as a company representative.
- Prepare for auctions: Create silent auction items when needed.
- Follow up: Communicate with potential clients after special events.
Advertising Investments, Budgeting and Data Tracking:
- Create marketing and advertising budgets for both locations.
- Develop an annual marketing plan and update it throughout the year.
- Determine key metrics to track and report to the CEO.
- Analyze data monthly, providing results and recommendations.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of paid advertising and suggest changes.
- Assess the success of all internal and external programs and events.
- Use analytical results to design programs, plans, events, and growth strategies.
- Proactively identify potential problems and develop solutions.
Internal Programs and Events:
- Collaborate with managers: Develop programs, offers, and events to grow their departments.
- Promote activities: Use Constant Contact, flyers, posters, etc.
- Monitor program success: Ensure programs are delivered properly and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Update lobby monitors: Keep them fresh with new pictures and promotions.
- Gather client feedback: Design and distribute surveys to understand client experience.
- Organize in-house events: Plan, promote, and execute all internal events, including charity fundraisers.
Requirements
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Experience: Two to four years related experience
Computer Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign and Windows Movie Maker is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- At least two years of relevant experience in a marketing position.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Digg, Youtube, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios
- Live in the Montgomery County, Howard County, or Fredrick Area.
