Your role at Sephora:
As the Public Relations manager you will support the development and execution of public relations strategies for retailer initiatives including crisis management, corporate initiatives (like Social Impact, Diversity and Inclusion programs), large scale launches, retailer awareness programs including speaking engagements, industry awards and interview opportunities. Reporting to the Senior Director of Public Relations, the programming management and strategic counsel this role provides ladders into the company goals of driving consumer awareness, strengthening client engagement, elevating brand reputation and sales, ultimately keeping Sephora competitive and beloved by clients. In addition, you will:

In partnership with the Director and fellow PR Manager, execute day-to-day management of the US public relations agencies, providing direction and overseeing execution of press outreach and activities for company initiatives
Support the Director of Public Relations in strategy, planning and execution of PR tactics supporting the company objectives to maximize earned media coverage across all national, regional and social channels
Supporting Crisis Response, working with the VP and Senior Director of PR to manage crisis response initiatives, develop response strategy and execute accordingly, also responsible for maintaining all crisis communications plans and protocols. This includes assisting the Senior Director in establishing a Crisis Communications protocol program including response systems, internal training, program enhancement. Serve as the day to day proxy for escalating issues, manage the supporting agency and lead the risk team
Maintain composure, problem solve, and partner with both internal and external groups to ensure the retailer is represented according to our values in crisis management situations
Plan and manage the speaking engagement calendar, including seeking and vetting opportunities for the Sephora executive team and facilitating the corresponding activities for each engagement
Manage Public Relations budget, calendar and marketing task list with ease
Operate as the lead contact for Global PR, Internal and LVMH Communications, including briefing and aligning announcement programming, business and best practices share outs, and sharing Sephora news for a variety of internal audiences
Lead contact for LVMH Media, including managing LVMH extranet, VOICES and DMR reporting
Oversee execution of internal reporting for company-wide initiatives
Liaise with cross functional teams in Marketing, Social Impact and Omni Retail to evaluate, plan and coordinate upcoming program focuses

What we are looking for and believe you need as a candidate:
6+ years public relations experience, in-house or agency
Experience preferred in multiple communications realms, including but not limited to beauty, consumer goods, corporate social responsibility and technology
Crisis management required
Experience in all realms of media, including new media including but not limited to managing influencer strategies and relationships
Expertise in advising senior leadership through corporate crises, social media issues, product recalls, labor issues, customer service issues, management changes, litigation, and other special situations
Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal), with a keen understanding of press relations and how to balance messaging and company priorities as a spokesperson
Strong presentation capabilities, can communicate upward and laterally, informing partners well and with ease
Strong critical thinking capabilities and ability to partner with other groups
Effective organizational and time management skills, can juggle many projects at once
Independent thinker, values the capabilities and work quality of a team, has a strong understanding of internal and external clients and needs/priorities
Self-starter, action-oriented, resourceful, can take a project or program from start to completion
Charisma, thinks on the fly, can balance personality and professional perspective with business objectives and priorities
Thrives in an environment with a large amount of public exposure and a diverse range of personalities and opinions
Enjoys being a team leader, with emphasis on development and career pathing for a direct report (Coordinator level), including being able to have critical conversations
University degree

We’re excited about you if you have:
Understanding of retail cosmetics and passion for beauty and client experience
Elevated computer and social media skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver
Flexibility and ability to take and incorporate feedback from a variety of stakeholders
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Fluent speaker and writer in English, Spanish and French
