POSITION SUMMARY

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing the day-to-day lodge laundry. This person is highly organized and strives to maintain the par-stock of the laundry supplies and understand the safe handling of cleaning supplies. The Laundry Attendant has a strong understanding of guest expectations, teamwork and excellent time management skills.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Cohesive working relationship with the Hospitality Services team and on-going involvement with the area management team.

Products and Supplies:
Working knowledge of laundry chemicals and products
Working knowledge of laundry equipment
Monitoring and ordering of laundry products

Task Management:
Ability to organize daily laundry needs
Manage cleaning tasks when needed
Daily upkeep of the main laundry area
Radio Duty: is a scheduled task and required by all CMH Lodge staff
Participate in dinner service
Perform tasks in the kitchen related to dinner service and clean-up

Guest Satisfaction:
Work together with other staff to develop an interactive environment for guests and staff
Reach out to guests to fulfill requests and exceed customer experience expectations

Safety/Regulatory:
Understand and abide by OH&S and WHMIS standards and guidelines
Demonstrate safe workplace practices

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:
Minimum of a high school education
Food Safe Certification

Experience:
Experience in, and a passion for, customer service excellence
Previous work experience in hospitality (room attendant/laundry/housekeeper), an asset
Previous delivery of hospitality to international guests, an asset

Other Requirements:
Detail-oriented with the ability to work towards big picture goals and priorities
Excellent communication skills – able to receive and act on feedback in an effective manner

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job may be in a remote area of the BC wilderness or in a town-based lodge. Employees are required to find their own way to and from the lodge or helicopter staging area. Please specify in your cover letter which type of location you are most interested in.

This position has a 10 hour work day as a split shift.

Work Environment:
Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis
Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis
