Senior Accountant

ABSc is seeking a Senior Accountant Costpoint Specialist. ABSc runs QuickBooks and will be upgrading to Deltek costpoint. The person in this position is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the staff accountants and assist in implementation of Costpoint. The person in this position directly reports to the SVP of Finance.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintains General Ledger, ensure accuracy of al GL reconciliations, and perform month-end and year-end closing processes
Preparation and timely distribution of monthly financial reports
Monitor customer invoicing, the aging of accounts receivable, contract funding and vendor payments in order to provide optimal working capital
Maintain full regulatory compliance in the areas of Federal Government Contracting, Federal, State and Local Tax requirements, Department of Labor Regulations and all other applicable areas.
Supervise the analysis of financial statements, recognition of revenue and analyses monthly variances
Confirm accuracy and completeness of indirect expense rates and subsidiary ledgers
Assure strict compliance with established accounting policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Financial Performance Reports (FPRs), et al.
Work with managers to manage the risk profile of the company; identify at risk clients, and ensure that the company maximizes revenue and margins
Lead the development and integration of new accounting systems and reporting procedures and computer capabilities; coordinate with other operational areas to ensure that accounting system interfaces are reliable and accurate
Assist with statistical information and reports for the annual budget process; coordinate and participate in the enterprise budgeting process
Provide cost information and support to the proposal and project management teams as it relates to new and existing business initiatives
Support all annual Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), General Services Administration (GSA), insurance, State Government audits and report audit findings to upper management
Prepare and file annual DCAA incurred cost submissions

Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Management
CPA or CPA track preferred
Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience in delivering financial and management consulting services
Minimum five (5) years’ experience working on Deltek Costpoint
Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Understanding of indirect rate structures and contract types
Proven ability to meet daily and monthly timelines and deliverables
Excellent written and oral communication
Intermediate Excel and solid data management skills
