What will I be doing?
The Coordinator, Operations Support – CALA will be part of an evolving team that will require flexibility to handle different projects from different areas of the business (finance, revenue analytics, operational analysis, etc); the operational and strategic business questions that you will aim to take on are not repetitive. If you have excellent attention to detail and drive to complete projects through processes, you will love this role. You will also work with cross-functional teams distributed globally to deliver results to the organization and key partners. You will focus on analytics and insight. You will actively support and execute analysis projects that evaluate operational effectiveness for tasks as directed by Regional Discipline leaders (Operations, Sales, Revenue Management, Finance, Human Resources).
More specifically, you will:
Develop strategies for effective data analysis and reporting.
Define, compile and publish company-wide metrics and relevant data sources.
Select, configure and implement analytics solutions to current business issues.
Handle all analytics operations to correct discrepancies and ensure quality.
Execute special projects as directed by Regional Discipline leaders (Operations, Sales, Revenue Management, Finance, HR).
Extract reports from multiple sources (e.g. SALT, GTMS, GPTW).
Build systems to transform raw data into actionable business insights.
Apply industry knowledge to interpret data and improve performance.
Keep abreast of industry news and trends.
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators.
Review and organize data to clearly summarize and present takeaways.
Identify insights, present stories and develop strategic narratives based on data.
Use Excel, PowerPoint, Business Intelligence and Visualization tools to craft deliverables that enable effective decisions within supported disciplines.
Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to partners within multiple levels of the organization.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
Provide support for the Operations team (Regional Discipline leaders) and assist in activities where necessary.
Handle any ad hoc enquiries and special requests.
Participate and attend relevant events and/or meetings where required.
Host WebEx calls
What are we looking for?
The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:
Solid experience in data analysis and reporting; hotel industry experience is a plus
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
Ability to read, analyze and interpret data, including financial and budgetary reports
Interpersonal communicators who will positively influence Hilton’s partners and who will communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing
Problem solving skills to effectively and creatively find solutions for hard problems while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behavior and discretion with sensitive information
Project management skills with an aptitude for staying calm and effective while handling multiple concurrent demands and prioritizing responsibilities
To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
BA/BS Bachelor’s degree or one (1) year of reporting and analysis experience
Deep understanding of Excel and PowerPoint
Bilingual in English/Spanish
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Two (2) years’ reporting and analysis experience
Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, SAS)
Experience working in multi-cultural or international settings
