Position Summary:
Provide excellent customer service by acknowledging customers as they enter and exit the store, answering questions and assisting with deactivation of electronic article surveillance devices. Additionally, perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:
Model “Customer 1st” behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
Acknowledge customers in a friendly manner as they enter and exit the store
Maneuver in the store’s entry and exit areas
Politely ask customers to see their receipt for non-bagged items and direct customers to registers when non-bagged items are observed
Respond to activations of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems
Assist customers with deactivation of EAS devices
Answer customer questions concerning the location of items or sections within the store
Direct communication with the district Asset Protection (AP) manager/district AP specialists to report suspicious behavior
Report incidents on the Kroger Loss Prevention Monitoring System (KLPMS)
Review closed-circuit television (CCTV) and report any incidents to district AP manager
Perform random associate parcel/receipt check
Assist customers with bascarts that may lock up with Purcheck
Report safety concerns to supervisor
Comply with corporate policies and promote/follow company initiatives
Maintain flexibility to work any shift

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or combination of relevant education and experience
Minimum 18 years of age
Ability to pass drug test
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
Accuracy/attention to detail
Ability to work within rigid timeframes and meet resolute deadlines

Desired Previous Job Experience:
Knowledge of Kroger policies, procedures, and organizational structure
Ability to speak a second language
