This position plans and administers classes for a variety of participants in a healthcare setting. The incumbent will provide instructions for safe movement, proper positioning & modifications for beginners. This person will assist participants in improving stress levels, strength, flexibility and allow participants to feel refreshed, relaxed and more energized.
Instructs class and is responsible for all aspects of class including warm up, session, cool down, music, room environment, and participants comfort. Gives participants verbal instruction on proper positioning, provides verbal cues for repositioning to avoid injury, and provides adjustments for varying skill level.
Identifies and exceeds participant needs by providing quality services. Maintains accurate attendance records and obtains consent forms as necessary.
Maintains open communication with Wellness Manager to ensure all needs are being met and any concerns are addressed. Works closely to schedule classes and maintain schedules.
Responsible for consistently developing new or expanding program/service offerings, schedule classes and maintain schedule. Suggests opportunities to enhance classes with Wellness staff.
Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions.
Instructor certificate from registered school. Graduate of a program with minimum of 200 hours.
Previous class instruction preferred. Experience in a clinical setting preferred. BLS certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
