The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of Executive Assistant to the Associate Vice President of Development.

The Executive Assistant supports the work of the Associate Vice President by coordinating, organizing, and executing administrative tasks for the Regional Development team. The candidate proactively organizes the Associate Vice President’s schedule and travel arrangements and is responsible for high level correspondence and logistical support, budget monitoring and reconciliation, coordinating meeting agendas and technical logistics, and special projects including activities such as preparing presentations, compiling reports, and planning large team gatherings. This position serves as a central liaison between the Associate Vice President, other staff members within the Division of Advancement, and other constituents with whom the Associate Vice President interacts. The candidate will supplement development associate support for AVP prospect management responsibilities including ensuring gift/pledge recording accuracy, preparing briefings and correspondence, gathering information and preparing reports and stewardship and proposals for donors.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years high-level executive experience or relevant experience. Preference is given to individuals with high-level administrative support working in the not-for-profit sector and/or an academic or research institution, and who have been involved with fundraising, development, and/or alumni relations.
Experience coordinating complex travel arrangements, managing a difficult calendar and drafting correspondence or related experience preferred.
Specific computer application expertise, including word processing, database, electronic mail and calendars, spreadsheets, and internet.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Commitment to completing tasks accurately and adherence to deadlines
The incumbent must possess tact, discretion, sound judgment and initiative.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
