Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified Bilingual Sr. Desktop Technician to work on-site, out of Herndon, VA on our customers in an end user support capacity providing exceptional customer service. Our Desktop Technicians will perform a variety of duties in support of end users for IT hardware and/or software. Under general supervision, this position may require collaboration with technical and managerial staff. Work methods and/or sequence of work is governed by oral/written instructions and established procedures. Key points for this role that candidates need to be focused on: -Have solid experience with troubleshooting hardware and Software from a phone and remote desktop environment -This role is supporting global Lockheed users in other countries so it will not be going desk side. -Candidate must be local/commutable to Herndon, VA. -Candidate needs to have experience with Apple Mobile products and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues. -Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English, both grammatically and verbally -Fluent in Spanish -Duration of contract is indefinite
Required Skills / Qualifications:Skills:
4 – 5 years’ experience with configuring computers
Knowledge of basic firewall
Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications
Strong knowledge of cell phone management
Must be fluent in Spanish
Work well with remote team members
Must be professional, well spoken
Strong writing skills
3 years demonstrating professional desktop support history with a variety of platforms / systems / applications and tools to include Operating system expertise – Windows, Unix/Linux, Apple, Network protocol and Image loading protocol
3 years LAN/NETWORK connectivity, and basic network connectivity assessment for troubleshooting or setups
3 years ICMS (Install, configuration, move, surplus) and network experience
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Evaluates and tests software programs to verify functionality according to specifications and standards
Demonstrates excellent Customer Service
Install and configure network devices (i.e. network printers, scanners, plotters, PCs, etc.). Troubleshoot problems with network printing and scanning devices. Perform data termination/ activation in telecommunication closets aka network connect (activation of data drops).
Repair and replace data connectors on network cables and data drops.
Assist in the relocation of customer employees on the facility (move PCs and activate data drops in new location).Troubleshoot network issues with PCs and LAN (duplex mismatches, duplicate IPs, corrupt firewall software, proxy configuration issues, etc.)
Assist with imaging of laptops and PCs for deployment.
