Summary: Serves as legal counsel for transactional matters for Parkview Health, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and formation of new legal entities. Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts and related legal documents, including large supply chain contracts, information services agreements, real estate legal documents (purchase agreements, leases and contractor agreements) and payor contracts. Will also provide legal support for real estate transactions, including working with outside counsel on real estate purchases, leases, zoning matters, financing and property tax exemption. Provides legal support for supply chain leadership and contract analysts, including conducting appropriate legal education and training related to contracts. Provides legal support to the Payor Contracting Department, including reviewing contracts and new payment arrangements. Provides contract legal advice and resolution of issues to internal customers and assists leaders in researching and analyzing contract models, addressing escalated, high profile and highly complex issues and makes recommendations to resolve issues. Serves as a resource for staff and PH leaders on complex matters requiring legal advice. Assists with acquisitions and transactions as requested. Also assists, as needed, with other Parkview Health legal matters, as needed.
Education: Must have a Bachelors Degree and Law Degree from an accredited law school.
Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed to practice law in Indiana in good standing.
Experience: Prefer a minimum of 3 5 years of healthcare law and/or transactional experience. Experience with health care regulations fraud and abuse laws real estate law payor contracting and formation of legal entities is also very helpful. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to present information effectively to senior leadership and boards. Requires broad knowledge of contract law. Strong business and financial acumen.
