The primary scope of this role is to provide Help Desk services to the organization. Additionally, this position is responsible for facilitating the support of internal information technology initiatives encompassing end user to enterprise level architecture. Installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems. Performs a variety of tasks including help desk support, after business hours on-call support and responding to system outages, in-house application support, and more. Implement, maintain, administer, and support servers. Has intermediate to expert knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the realm of Information Technology and Microsoft environments. Works under immediate supervision. Work is performed under the general direction of Senior Director, Information Technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide desktop, phone, printer, and mobile computing support
Includes the implementation, administration, maintenance, and support of Vector?s technology stack.
Participate as a primary member of the VECTOR IT Help Desk with active On-Call Rotation
Be available 24x7 to respond to pages, alerts, off hour request
Evaluate off-hours support requests and alerts and determine priority / and if off hours action is required
Perform primary problem resolution with minimal interaction from other parties unless necessary
Notify Management of system outages
Follow up with on-call problem identification to determine root cause identification and long term resolution (continuous improvement).
Implementation, administration, maintenance, and support of Vector Technology
Maintain, upgrade, build desktop and laptops for the corporate LAN and remote user environments
Installing OS software, patches, upgrades.
Maintaining and monitoring environmental controls in the data center including: maintenance contracts, service records, UPS, Fire Suppression, HVAC, etc.
Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software and network issues related to switches, firewalls, routers, wireless networks, phone systems, and servers
Planning and executing IT systems upgrades and migrations
Administer and support corporate messaging technologies
Administer and support Microsoft Active Directory including: user management, group policies, security groups, distribution groups, login scripts, etc
Patch management analysis, testing and deployment for VECTOR technical infrastructure
Interfaces externally with contracted IT vendors, software development vendors, commercial/business IT vendors, and VECTOR customers
Implement, maintain, and administer virtual server systems
Implement, maintain, and administer corporate anti-virus
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND five years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
