Brown and Caldwell, a national environmental engineering firm, has an exciting opportunity for an engineer to work on design infrastructure projects for municipal and private sector clients in our Atlanta, GA office. You will provide civil/mechanical engineering support for a variety of projects which may include planning, evaluation, design and construction related activities for wastewater, water and storm water conveyance systems, pumping systems and related facilities.
In this role you will work with and be mentored by nationally recognized, senior technical staff. Our ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.
Coordinate with project managers, client service managers, and other project personnel from other disciplines
Perform engineering work in various engineering fields (such as wastewater, water, infrastructure, etc.)
Work on engineering designs, prepare reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for various projects
Assist with environmental studies, permitting and alternative analysis
Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing
Assist with the preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables
Execute activities on projects for master planning and design of water/wastewater conveyance systems, as well as engineering services during construction
Defect coding and assessment of wastewater collection systems
Duties may also include field activities such as site investigations, storm water sampling, and stream flow monitoring
Desired Skills and Experience:
B.S. degree required, in related engineering field (Civil, Mechanical)
One-year professional work experience preferred
EIT Certification preferred
Experience in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance preferred
Valid driver's license and good driving record required
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Should be versatile and interested in working on a variety projects supporting Engineering Services
Excellent technical writing skills required
