Assistant, Associate, Full Professor - Information School
The University of Washington Information School seeks a truly outstanding scholar to broaden and deepen our research and scholarship in areas including, but not limited to: studies of misinformation and disinformation, including computational, mixed-methods approaches, etc.; information access and data literacy; information flow in sociotechnical systems; the role of information in the formation and dynamics of values, beliefs, or identities (race, gender, class, ability, etc.); and the role of researchers, educators, librarians, and policy makers in supporting healthy information environments and fostering a more informed and equitable society.
This position will demonstrate excellence in research and education, and welcome individuals who are excited by, able to thrive in, and eager to contribute to our diverse, intellectually stimulating, multi-disciplinary environment that respects a wide variety of research traditions and methods, and is open to new areas and methods.
We anticipate this individual will work closely with the newly formed Center for an Informed Public (CIP) at the University of Washington. The CIP is a collaborative, multi-disciplinary effort that brings together faculty, staff, students and community partners in service of a core mission aiming to resist strategic misinformation and strengthen democratic discourse. The Center will lead programs that span research, education, policy and outreach, and is actively engaged in pursuing funding for these activities.

The position is a full-time 9-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2020. Rank and tenure status is commensurate with experience and qualifications. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Applicants must have a PhD, JD, EdD, or foreign equivalent by date of appointment.
