Delek US Holdings, Inc. is a diversified downstream energy company with assets in petroleum refining, logistics, renewable fuels and convenience store retailing. The refining assets consist of refineries operated in Tyler and Big Spring, Texas, El Dorado, Arkansas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana with a combined nameplate crude throughput capacity of 302,000 barrels per day.
The logistics operations primarily consist of Delek Logistics Partners, LP. Delek US Holdings, Inc.and its affiliates own approximately 63% (including the 2 percent general partner interest) of Delek Logistics Partners, LP. Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE:DKL) is a growth-oriented master limited partnership focused on owning and operating midstream energy infrastructure assets.
The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.
As the Director, Data, you’ll support Delek’s strategic transformation programs by leading the enterprise data strategy and architecture. This is a high visibility, transformational leadership position, also requiring technical and operational experience.
The Director, Data will be responsible for the design and implementation of strategic and tactical data management in support of Delek’s business goals. You will guide the organization’s data-related efforts, provide a vision for the development of a robust, scalable data model, and champion the optimal use of relevant technologies by applying broad industry knowledge and commercial awareness to drive our financial performance.
This role also includes developing technical and functional artifacts such as designs, models, and related data specifications. Partnering with Business Process Optimization (BPO), IT, and other business stakeholders, you will bridge information and cultural gaps, reduce friction and redundancy to improve data accuracy and flow efficiency between Delek’s Business Units.
Ultimately, you will help Delek capitalize on our technology insights to enhance business value through data management, improve the effectiveness of our information stewardship, and drive best-in-class data strategies across the enterprise. This is a critical role to facilitate a cultural change at Delek towards a process-managed and data-driven enterprise, instilling a data-excellence mindset into our lifestyle.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify and evaluate current and next-generation data management technologies
Create and gain buy-in for an end-to-end vision for how data will flow through Delek’s systems
Develop and leverage enterprise and conceptual data models to identify the relationships between business units to guide and facilitate key business decisions
Provide coaching to Delek’s Management to help understand the complexities and commitment involved, ensuring data is managed as an enterprise asset
Coordinate resolution of highly complex problems and tasks, promoting new ideas and concepts in support of operational goals and objectives
Build a data catalog to support the implementation of our emergent data warehouse infrastructure
Propose improvements for data integrations, both near-term and long-term, executed through effective leadership
Support the design, construction, and deployment of database architectures and applications
Executes business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategies
Collaborate with technical staff to support data development, migration, transformation, deployment, and quality
Lead the development of logical and physical data models to enable the implementation of the data strategy
Support Master Data Management (MDM) and other data efforts across the enterprise through negotiation with senior leadership on strategic direction
Collaborate with business teams to leverage data to establish KPI measurement and tracking, including savings and realized value
Serve as techno-functional SME for data integration domain expertise in project planning, process improvement planning, and portfolio management activities
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Technical / Engineering or other applicable field
15+ total years in Data Management
10+ total years of Systems Architect or equivalent experience
Project Management Experience
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Certification or Equivalent
Master’s Degree in applicable field
Proven effectiveness in ability to usher large-scale, enterprise-wide changes and the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems through applying advanced critical thinking
Experience successfully integrating enterprise applications
Experience implementing Data Governance frameworks and Master Data strategies
Experience developing enterprise-wide data models (conceptual, logical, and physical)
Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills; ability to listen to management, data analysts and relevant staff to come up with the best data design; explaining complex concepts to non-technical colleagues
Ability to provide technical guidance to guidance to technical team, translating business requirements into functional specifications
Strong program / project management skills including working knowledge of different methodologies
Ability to analyze project needs and resources needed to meet project objectives
