Job Purpose
We are looking for a skilled Business Process Engineer to join our team in supporting Navy Medicine. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in reviewing and documenting complex business processes, developing process flow documentation, and delivering training. This role involves maintaining and updating Major Business Process (MBP) documentation to ensure compliance and support Navy Medicine’s operational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Review and thoroughly document complex Department of Navy (DON) business processes, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
· Identify and assess internal controls within complex DON business processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
· Create detailed flowcharts, narratives, and Control Activity Assessment Tools (CAATs) for key business segments within Navy Medicine.
· Design and deliver training related to documented business processes, ensuring comprehensive understanding and effective implementation by stakeholders.
· Develop and update training courses in conjunction with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) updates to maintain alignment with current practices.
· Sustain and update the Major Business Process (MBP) documentation library, ensuring all materials are current, organized, and easily accessible.
· Develop new MBP documents as changes occur in the operating environment, keeping documentation relevant and up to date.
· Maintain version control and update documentation based on organizational changes, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
· Collaborate with Navy Medicine Government leads to document and update MBP IT controls, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
· Ensure that all MBP documentation and Key Supporting Documents (KSD) are current, accurate, and available for review by authorized personnel.
· Travel as required, adhering to the Government’s Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) or Federal Travel Regulations (FTR).
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
· Proven experience in business process analysis, documentation, and training delivery, preferably within a government or military environment.
· Strong understanding of Department of Navy (DON) operations and internal controls.
· Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, and Adobe Acrobat.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and diverse training.
· Ability to develop and maintain detailed process documentation.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Familiarity with version control systems and documentation management practices.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Compliance with all applicable security requirements, including HIPAA, Privacy Act, and DoD regulations.
