The PMO Senior Project Manager is the subject matter authority for delivery processes and PMO standards. They are responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of projects including planning, organizing, and executing against cross-team activities and deliverables working in conjunction with Product Owners, Capability Owners, Scrum Masters, RTEs, Business and Technology Leaders, and all other partners of the program. American Century and the corporate PMO are moving to a Lean-Agile/SAFe development environment.
Primary internal liaison for project tactics and are accountable for project execution
Leads all phases of the project lifecycle, managing to timeline, budget, scope, and quality requirements. Demonstrate success in team leadership, partner management, process adherence, agility practices, and risk management.
Defines project scope, financials, deliverables and landmarks for project implementation
Drives the estimation process and provide project budget and staff plan parameters
Establishes and retains relationships with project sponsor, team members, and corporate partners.
Works with project partners to develop an effective communication plans
Responsible for close collaboration with other leaders to ensure business value is delivered in line with the broader strategy
Utilizes and adheres to a formalized methodology of project management, including standardized processes
Supplies ongoing use/advancement of PMO standard methodologies, tools, and practice to ensure continuous effective delivery methods including the implementation of Lean-Agile practices across the organization
Mentors and train project team members in PM practices and business re-engineering concepts to ensure successful delivery of projects
Observe and research fiduciary legislation investment industry practices and trends
Bachelor’s degree with 7-10 years of solid experience
Experience managing and leading delivery of product development based projects and/or strategy-based projects
Presents project status, risk, scope, etc. to clients
Facilitates meetings to secure decisions and identify next steps
Knows how to develop a strategic project plans
Effective communicator (written and verbal)
Leads a vast and diverse group of different project teams
Financial management and strong personal organization
Confident decision-making and facilitation skills
Desire to drive teamwork across teams
Builds relationships with leadership, resources and partners through negotiation, influencing, communication, facilitation and trust
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to anticipate and assess risk
Self-awareness and professional demeanor
Knowledge and expertise using project management tools and methodologies
Sound experience with leading projects in an Agile (Scrum) and/or SAFe framework
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS PowerPoint, MS Project and MS Visio
Working in a Lean-Agile environment
