Primary Responsibilities:

This position supports 436 Airlift Wing flying squadrons located at Dover AFB, DE squadron operations support functions at 3rd and 9th Airlift Squadrons (C-17). The ideal candidate will coordinate with Training, Standardization and Evaluation Squadron Aviation Resource Manager (SARM), Mobility/Readiness, Operation Officer (DO) to arrange a schedule to facilitate operations, qualifications, upgrade, test, exercise, and continuation training accomplishment to meet required currency and progression stands, in accordance with current directives. Build and maintain long- and short-range schedules for all aircrew, instructor, evaluator, support personnel, and supervisor positions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Track unit personnel leave, temporary duty, medical appointments and other scheduling commitments for de-confliction of aircrew and flight operations scheduling. Track and update database with aircrew deployments, temporary duty, local flights and days at flying training. Obtain and coordinate aircraft and equipment availability from maintenance and schedule aircrew for training, exercise, simulator, and operations as required.

  • Maintain accountability of aircrew with availability based on aircrew: deployed, temporary duty (TDY), upgrade training, leave, Duties Not Including Flying (DNIF), etc.
  • Track daily flight/ground/academic training requirements and accomplishments to facilitate accurate flight scheduling as directed by the operations officer.
  • Facilitate last-minute schedule changes to ensure full coverage by working with the current mission commander/operations supervisor (or equivalent).
  • Obtain aircraft and equipment availability data from maintenance (MX) and schedule crewmembers for training, exercises, simulators, and operations, as required.
  • Publish/post scheduling data for unit long-/short-range ground/academic, flying, and simulator training event schedules on Global Decision Support System GDSS, GTIMS, or other computer database systems.
  • Comply with Ops Group, Wing Current Operations (OSO), Group Training (OST), FTU (Flying Training Unit), and OSS (Operations Support Squadron) locally-developed guidance when building the schedule.
  • Determine flight, ground, and simulator schedule requirements for upgrade, initial qualification, requalification, transition, currency, evaluation, and continuation training based on syllabus requirements, student progression, weather, and daily equipment/training range availability.
  • Perform and post daily updates of scheduling data to incorporate changing conditions and training completion rates.
  • Coordinate with OSO, OST, outside agencies/exercise participants and higher headquarters, for example: RED FLAG, GREEN FLAG, Weapons School support, for reporting and to facilitate exercise and special event schedule coordination.
  • Provide inputs to Wing Scheduling.
  • The candidate shall attend weekly meeting for schedule coordination and de-confliction.

Tasks Performed: Protects company sensitive information, and maintains awareness and supports core business standards. Provides timely feedback to management on identified issues as requested. May communicate with client(s) on assigned tasks as directed by Program Manager or their designee. May fulfill some administrative requirements by performing a variety of office tasks.

Essential Functions: Completes tasks as assigned. Adheres to and meets cost, budget and schedule on assigned project(s). Works under close supervision; exercises limited independence in completion of entry-level assignments; work is routine in nature.

Desired Education and Job Experience:

BA/BS in related field plus 0-2 years of directly related experience or equivalent (as based on company practice or contract requirements - High School diploma or GED).

  • One year of experience working as an aircrew scheduler.
  • One year of experience working with GDSS, GTIMS or equivalent scheduling program.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC.
