Analyzes and ensures proper credit investigation in accordance with credit union policy. Prepares, analyzes and reviews financial data to determine credit worthiness and assists in loan portfolio monitoring. Responsible for providing competent credit analysis for lending activities, assistance in the administration of borrowing accounts, conduct appraisal reviews, training for business loan staff, and assistance in completion of special projects and assignments. Participates in loan committees. Processes credit applications; verifies credit references and information; and determines credit limits. Prepares reports on the status of credit and collections, and other operating systems.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Spreads financial statements regularly to assist lenders in analyzing credits. Assists in the analysis of financial statements and calculation of key financial metrics. Evaluates results of investigations and prepares financial spreads and credit evaluation forms for new requests, renewals and annual reviews. Suggests credit limitations, strengths and weaknesses to loan officers and management. Duties could include pulling credit bureau reports on guarantors.

Prepares loan closing packages to include all necessary documentation from LaserPro and other systems. Assembles, files, and maintains complete legal credit files for each loan. Scans loan documentation, member financial statements, and other documents into proper documentation storage systems.

Reviews loan work-ups for completion and proper execution to ensure adequate enforceability of company’s position for new and existing loans reviewed. This includes loan details, document review, financial copies, approvals, etc. Any material information warranting a grade change is reported to loan officers and/or management in a timely manner. Confirms or changes the grade and issues a report of the findings for the lender and management. Visits business establishments and completes site inspections to determine condition of property as part of new underwrite and annual review processes.

Prepares various reports for the Quarterly Board presentation. Provides regulators and auditors with information needed to assess company’s compliance with loan review policies and procedures and reserve adequacy methods. Creates and analyzes various monthly reports including but not limited to NAICS Code, Loan Maturity, and other ad hoc reports as needed. Assists in maintenance of PCFS lending system including daily system report generation, review of integration between loan system and core, and assist with necessary upgrades and changes to the system.

Reviews lender assigned risk grades on smaller commercial, business and consumer credits. Assists with relationship management of the commercial portfolio via tickler reports.

Leads or assists with projects that will consist primarily of credit administration issues and may relate to possible changes in policies and procedure, possible changes as a result of examiner or auditor recommendations, peer group analysis, market studies, changes in compliance and regulations, software upgrades, monitoring of industry or borrower concentrations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for efficiency gains such as out-sourcing, in-sourcing, centralization of duties/staff, etc.

Initiates appraisal process including bid requests, engagement, and ensuring timely payment of appraisal invoices.

Educates members by demonstrating a high level of knowledge and understanding regarding the features and benefits of Credit Union products and services. Cross-sells the appropriate products and services to the members to help them meet their financial needs. Participates in ongoing training and development through a combination of the Credit Union’s training curriculum, self-study, self development and webinars

Promotes a positive relationship between the members (internal and external) and the Credit Union and understands that service delivery to members is the number one priority of the Credit Union.

Completes all other tasks, assignments or functions as assigned and/or required.

Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge & Skills

Three years to five years of similar or related experience

A college degree.
