The ambitious growth goals of the Americas zone and the need to launch innovations faster than before callas for entrepreneurship to identify and work closely with external partners to enable fast launch of our Brands innovation. With an ambitious zero greenhouse gas emission policy by 2025 and the also the digitalization of our operations to drive productivity, the Senior Zone engineering projects manager will be in charge of supporting the Bel Americas CAPEX projects for all facilities and subcontractors, in order for the zone to:

Become a reference in the Bel Group for productivity, “test and learn” innovation and safety developments
Unleash its technical abilities and set new standards
Roll out Zone Industrial Strategy

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The scope includes our three facilities (KY, WI, SD) and three subcontractors (WI, Quebec). All Bel products are in the scope, including but not limited to Mini BabyBel, The Laughing Cow, Boursin, Merkts, Prices, Kaukauna, Owl’s Nest.

The Zone Sr Project Manager will:
Be a support to the Americas CAPEX team (three local project managers)
Help local teams to carry out projects from design to commissioning
Bring technical expertise and relevant design recommendations when needed
Implement our corporate engineering procedures and standards
Lead the annual investments preparation campaigns
Monitor CAPEX zone performance
Update monthly zone KPI sheet, share with corporate team
Consolidates CAPEX cash flow reporting and forecasts
Makes presentations to central industrial meetings
Develop the engineering network within the US and corporate team
Engages projects with cross functional interfaces (RID, purchasing, maintenance…)
Develop engineering network within the zone by sharing concepts and design standards between plants
Share information and best practices with engineering platforms, connect with central teams
The position requires travels to our production facilities in KY, SD, WI and Quebec. At least 10 days per months of presence in the plants – this will fluctuate depending on the workload. As part of his onboarding, the Zone Sr. Project Manager will spend at least three full weeks in our facilities, on the floor, to meet Bel operational teams, and learn our products and processes.

Qualifications and Competencies

5 years technical experience in dairy or cheese manufacturing and packaging is a must (engineering, maintenance or production)
Excellent project management skills
Curiosity and autonomy, willing to step outside of assigned scope of work when needed
Ability to work with multiple governing agencies (FDA, USDA, etc), and understanding of their governing documents (PMO, etc).
Excellent English communication skills in both speaking and writing. Second language such as French is a plus
Must have hands-on computer skills: MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP PE1 is a plus
Understanding of 5S, Lean, and Kaizen

Required skills and competencies:
Comfortable with functional and remote management
Strong leadership in project management (factual, rigor, organization, time management, problem solving, ability to summarize and focus on critical items)
Convincing, influencing skills, knows how to lead to consensus when needed
Ability to challenge in a constructive and realistic way
Ability to listen, humility and entrepreneurial mindset are required for this position
Eager to work in a multicultural environment (Bel is a European based organization) and with diverse profiles / backgrounds
Ability to work with multiple departments to balance decisions and achieve the goals of the company.

Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in an office environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. There are travels needs that could vary based on the location, projects, etc. There is a minimum of 50% travel.
