GuideIT is a US based technology services company focused on providing value to its’ customers through technology alignment and optimization. We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Tester to join our team in New York, New York. This is a 6 month plus role with the opportunity to go perm. The ideal candidate will live in New York, New Jersey, or Philadelphia.
We are looking for someone to bring solid existing QA experience with a focus on scalability through test automation, preferably with demonstrable experience applying a highly efficient automated testing approach. You will promote software quality and best practices across all of software development as well as be an advocate for quality throughout the organization. You will lead by example as a lead of the testing team, creating automated tests and defining the testing patterns that the development teams follow. You will ultimately design and implement testing strategies and the supporting architecture in a rapidly growing environment.
Primary duties include:
Work closely with the Software Development team, and executive leadership to ensure that the quality standard is set and adhered to.
Have lead responsibility across the entire QA function (design, development, implementation, and ongoing support and incremental improvement).
Be a leader for automation testing for our software development teams.
Be responsible for our automation-testing strategies across all teams.
Create and maintain a flexible/scalable test-driven development framework.
Identify strategies for test engineering deliverables, including a balance of integration test automation, UI automation and exploratory testing.
Build tools, methodologies, and processes that help engineers be more productive, write better code, and test it themselves.
Work directly with entire team to champion automation testing and quality assurance principles in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Participate in lively technology discussions where your opinion is truly valued and respected.
Constantly seek opportunities to improve our quality and testing approach.
Stay current with the latest, most relevant QA technologies and trends.
Establish and report quality related KPIs and other relevant information to senior management.
You have a four-year degree, preferably in Computer Science or MIS, or equivalent industry experience.
You have 5-8 years experience in software testing (functional/non-functional/automated)
You have experience with testing cutting-edge web technologies.
Experience with OFBiz and Netsuite desired.
You have strong technical skills and are comfortable with technical tools, scripting, and more.
You take pride and ownership in the software and user experiences you QA.
You have leadership experience or a strong desire to move into that role with demonstrable leadership skills.
You believe in continuous improvement to improve and obtain rapid customer feedback.
You are a confident, forward-thinker who’s solid in web, object-oriented and development and testing processes and concepts.
