The Digital Puppeteer will perform a variety of roles within the Entertainment Department and perform in an exciting 4-D show. The part-time Puppeteer will be responsible for learning the script, how to use the 4-D equipment, and will have to match/imitate voice clips throughout the show. The part-time Puppeteer will work closely with the full-time Puppeteer and Entertainment Department staff. They also will assist with the 4-D Show which will bring our Hershey Characters to life. The Digital Puppeteer will act as one of the main characters in the 4D Show interacting with our live audience and making personal connections. Puppeteers will help in other Entertainment areas when needed, this includes Chocolate Tasting Experience, which is an interactive experience where our guests learn the origin of chocolate, as well as the art of tasting chocolate by sampling a variety of different chocolates from milk to dark, as well as theater ushering.
This is a part-time position located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance or other employment benefits for this position. This position has a limited number of weekday daytime shifts during non-peak seasons. Hours will vary to accommodate a show scheduled for 364 days of the year with various shift times. This position requires evening, weekend and holiday availability and has a starting hourly rate of $15.00 or more based on relevant work experience

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to match the HERSHEY or REESE specific voice
Must be comfortable speaking in front of an audience of 250 or more for at least 5-15 minutes at a time
Ability to memorize scripts have comedic timing, and ability to improvise with the audience
Ability to perform assigned scripts 8-10 times/8 hour shifts
Must be able to learn how to use specific 4-D equipment to animate puppets
Must have hand dexterity and ability to manipulate a digital puppet
Must maintain a neat appearance and meet our uniform standards
Must be able to push, pull, or lift 25 lbs.
Must be able to walk, stand for 5-8 hours/shift and may be required to occasionally climb stairs
Pleasant, friendly, and outgoing personality with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and fellow co-workers
There will be repetitive use of the hands, wrists, and forearms
In order to be successful, a high level of energy and passion for the job will be required
Note: Qualified candidates will be asked to participate in a formal audition in order to demonstrate the above skills. Puppeteers must be able to match the specific voice during the audition
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required
Experience: Puppeteer experience of 3 years or more is preferred but not required. Improv experience of 1 year and the ability to voice match our characters is required.
