Job Summary
Child & Family is looking for an interim Director of Residential Services to be responsible for the overall programmatic and operational aspects of our Residential Services program.
Responsibilities and Duties

Meet contractual obligations for staff ratio for all residential services. Involve assistant program managers, clinical case manager and clinicians in process as appropriate.

Maintain fiscal oversight and accountability for the financial well being of the Residential Programs.

Monitor income and expenses and assume responsibility for budgetary compliance.

Provide administrative supervision for residential staff as well as other administrative staff assigned to the Residential Program.

Assure that all contractual obligations encumbered by Child and Family are met and that the projected level and quality of service is delivered.

Provide liaison with the RI Coalition for Children and Families.

Maintain liaison relationship with DCYF regarding admissions, vacancies, and problems with residents.

Assure that Intake for all programs is managed professionally.

Children being admitted should be appropriate to the program they are being referred to per specific contractual obligations.

Advocate that each new admission should arrive with appropriate accompanying information to assure the safety of the child referred as well as the children currently residing in the program.

Each new resident will receive a comprehensive assessment.

Assure that each resident receives appropriate clinical services to ensure their stabilization and growth and that their future placement needs are met.

Assure and maintain appropriate recording, statistical and administrative procedures to insure accurate data collection regarding residents.

Control utilization and record keeping for all program expenses including petty cash accounts, household and maintenance accounts and program supply and activity account.

Also included are staffing levels, occupancy statistics, unusual incidence reports, employee absentee reports, and care plan reviews.
Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree required; Master's in a human services field preferred

A valid Driver’s License is required

Working knowledge of child development, adolescent development, family dynamics, adult learning techniques, child protection and other relevant human services systems.

At least five years of significant residential program management experience preferred
Due to the dynamic nature of Residential services, Residential employees must be willing and able to adapt to changes in location, shift and task assignments if program needs require such changes. Although a concerted effort is made to avoid assignment changes, these are necessary from time to time.
