The Department of English and Literature is seeking to hire part time (adjunct) instructors to teach first year writing courses (English 1010 and 2010). Successful candidates will be able to: implement program goals as guided by common assignment sequences, texts, and objectives; prepare effective course plans; establish a supportive classroom environment; evaluate student learning using multiple means of assessment; support a student-centered approach to education; maintain and submit detailed student grade records.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree or higher in English, Rhetoric and Composition, Creative Writing, or a closely related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of subject area and course content.
Skill in instructional strategies and techniques.
Ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
Effective interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
Work is normally performed in a classroom environment.
