A day in your life as an IT Process Manager
This position is responsible for development of the bank’s software Release Management lifecycle process, including the scheduling, coordinating and automation of software updates for multiple applications, across various portfolios. Initially, the focus for this role will be the inclusion of the bank’s Patch Management process into the release management methodology. Works collaboratively to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and automating the release of software in production and test environments. Leads the effort of defining the IT strategic direction for release management tools for IT to ensure the process requirements of release management are built-in.
If applicable and appropriate, this role assists in IT’s compliance with accounting rules and regulations, as well as meeting the company’s financial reporting and regulatory requirements. This position is accountable to the Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

Plans and coordinates release windows and cycles for operating system patches, application updates, standardized configuration parameters, and corporate wide systems security improvements.
Maintains the release calendar and schedule for all core services and ensures alignment across key partners and vendors.
Reviews all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes. Negotiates plans and manages all Release activities across IT teams and impacted Business Units. Communicates release details and schedules to the Business as required.
Coordinates release content and effort based on the service request, application/security prioritization, or operating system updates. Manages risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality. Measures and monitors progress to ensure application releases are delivered effectively. Continually works towards making improvements in the release process.
Conducts Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews. Responsible for all Release KPI Metric Reporting.
Partners with Configuration Management engineering to support automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms. Works with systems engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges. Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks. Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists. Researches new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyzes their application to current configuration management needs.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent education or work experience.
1 – 4 years of experience.
Required experience is release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management and ITIL principles required).
Banking/financial industry or related field preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint) or similar software.
Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
Possess analytical skills, knowledge of data architecture, awareness of new approaches and techniques in the release management, software lifecycle management and industry.
Practical knowledge of software development lifecycle.
Excellent oral and written communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability.
Must have a high attention to detail, be able to work without direct supervision, and have an above average understanding of information technology topics.
Requires effective conflict management, negotiating and problem solving skills. Must be comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills.
Able to be flexible in a fast paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities.
Must be technically creative and open-minded.
Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned. Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion. Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.
