Summary/Objective:
We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller join our team. The selected candidate is responsible for the accounting, billing, and payroll functions of the company. They perform general, budgeting, and billing functions, coordinate audits, and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role will also monitor and report financial results to ensure the financial stability of the company.
Responsibilities

- Performs accounting and financial procedures and reporting, manages the accounting, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, medical billing, and payroll functions to insure accurate financial records, reports and information
- Maximize return on and protects financial assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing accounting and financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local requirements; tracks current and anticipated applicable legislation and advises executive management of necessary changes
- Perform regulatory reporting including tax planning and compliance
- Maintain company ledgers, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation, and ensures accurate and timely monthly and annual closing of company books
- Manage cash flows
- Prepares annual budget using schedules and financial data; manages to budget objectives
- Develop and monitor performance metrics
- Complete special projects as directed by executive management; provide information vital to decision-making process
- Recruit, train, coach, develop and supervise accounting staff to optimal performance and professional growth. Ensure staff is compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintains confidentiality of company accounting and financial information
- Continually monitor and keep current with professional accounting and finance trends and practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Master’s degree preferred
- CPA accreditation preferred
- 7+ of progressive accounting and financial experience, with 3 or more years in a managerial role
- Experience working within in a Service industry required
- Combination of public accounting and health care industry experience with a service provider preferred
- Multi-state experience preferred
- Medical billing experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, Expert knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
