Job Summary

The Competitive Sports Official officiates Intramural Sports contests. The Competitive Sports Official must have effective communication skills, demonstrate good judgment when enforcing policies, and be responsible. Additionally, the Competitive Sports Official must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekday and weekend days and nights.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Attend all training clinics for the sport the official wants to officiate
Enforce all sport rules using proper officiating signals and mechanics
Ensure that game equipment functions properly and that games are played under safe conditions
Assist with game site equipment set up and clean up
Assist in enforcing Wellness and Recreation Center and Intramural Sports policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications

FIU-MMC student

Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.
Customer service knowledge
Ability to work in a team setting.
Basic level of Microsoft Word.
None to basic Microsoft Excel.
Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
