Information about the Company: Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes. Hiring immediately for 3rd shift Machine Operators (Machine Adjusters) in our Chicago, IL manufacturing plant.
Machine Operator (Machine Adjuster) Pay/Schedule:
- Starting Pay $21/hr or higher depending on experience + shift premium
- $2/hr for 3rd shift premium (10pm - 6am)
- Training typically takes places on 1st shift 6am - 2pm
- Schedule: Mon - Fri / Sat required during busy season/based on business needs.
Machine Operator (Machine Adjuster) Responsibilities & Daily Duties:
- Sets up and adjusts converting equipment for safe and efficient operation.
- Start-up, adjustments involving close tolerances, maintenance, and troubleshooting; Change window rolls (overhead).
- Assists in adjuster/operator training; Provides coverage if needed.
- Quality inspection; Minimizes waste; Preventive maintenance
- Overtime as needed; Compliance with safety policies/procedures.
- · Maintains clean work area during/end of shift.
- Other duties and assignments as required.
Machine Operator (Machine Adjuster) Requirements/Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Candidates with direct envelope: 2-4 years experience is preferred.
- Candidates with some or no direct envelope: a minimum of 18-24 months of relevant mechanical experience is required.
- Advanced mechanical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately read a ruler; basic computer skills.
- Flexibility required with machine assignment.
Machine Operator (Machine Adjuster) Physical Requirements & Work Environment:-
- Regular standing, walking, carrying, climbing, reaching, bending, stooping.
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds with assistance.
- Exposure to equipment, noise, hazardous materials (inks, solvents, glue, etc).
- Must be able to work in hot or cold weather; Mental alertness.
- Maintain high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift.
