Havas Formula is seeking a Social Media Designer to join our NYC office. The role requires 2 years experience in art direction and/or design experience in a related agency or department (advertising, digital, social media, publishing/content or public relations).

We are a national public relations agency with offices in NY, Chicago, Miami, LA and San Diego. We have premier clients across the country and were recently ranked a “Best Place to Work” by the Holmes Report.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management

Works with the Creative and Digital teams to create social media posts, stories, and ads (for social) across all digital platforms
Concepts awesome, novel ideas for creative content that will resonate with a variety of target audiences and get engagement numbers up. Then figures out how to actually make it happen with the team
Serves as the expert on evolving social platforms - changing requirements, best practices, cool trends, image and video formats, file sizes, etc.
Creates simple animations that can be exported as looping GIFs and cinemagraphs
Ensures all visual design adheres to existing brand guidelines
Wears multiple hats based on skillset. May drive the creative and design process by playing the role of producer, retoucher, illustrator, photographer, etc.
Converts rough ideas into visual prototypes (e.g., sketches, layout drafts) to illustrate concepts for creative reviews
Recommends, researches and develops imagery (e.g., photography, illustration) to support creative strategy and execution
Plays an active role in contributing conceptual ideas in brainstorms or offline creative development
Agency Contributions

Participates in agency’s development programs
Contributes positively to the agency culture, atmosphere and values and exudes a positive outlook on his/her team
Establishes professional and respectful relationships with staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required (Art education in advertising design and conceptual thinking is preferred)

Experience required: A minimum of 2 years of art direction and/or design experience in a related agency or department (advertising, digital, social media, publishing/content or public relations)

Skills & Abilities Required:
Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately within all required aspects of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) as well as presentation software such as Keynote and PowerPoint; any AfterEffects animation skills will be utilized.
Must be self-motivated, hard-working, well-organized, thick skinned and resilient to ever-changing timelines, requests, and deliverables.
Ongoing drive to understand emerging techniques, trends and philosophies in design, technology, interaction and social media.
