Our Accelerate practice serves customers by partnering with them to drive their businesses forward. We do this in a number of ways- by serving as their fully outsourced accounting department, to high level business consulting and CFO-level services. The Senior Accountant role serves as a critical part of the engagement team coordinating internal and external communication and driving quality and on time delivery. This practice is fast-growing and we are eager for you to be part of this growth!
Here are some responsibilities you will get to take on:
Assist customers and engagement teams with accounting functions, including:
Month end close processes
Balance sheet reconciliations
General ledger analysis
Chart of account updates
Month end reporting
Discussions about historical financial results and metrics
Process analysis and improvement implementation
Prepare and review workpapers and supporting schedules
Participate in conversations with a variety of businesses in multiple industries about how to achieve their business goals
Collaborate with tax, audit and other consulting teams to provide the best service to customers
Mentor and train staff accountants and interns
Leverage technology for increased effectiveness and efficiency
Work with smart and innovative professionals, who challenge you to grow and be your best self
Here are the key role requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2.5+ years of accounting experience (many of our team members have a background in both public accounting and industry)
A strong understanding of financial statements and general ledger accounting
Excellent written and oral communication skills
The ability to:
work quickly and accurately with significant attention to detail
work both independently and collaboratively with a team
learn about our firm’s service offerings to identify areas our clients have needs and how we can support those needs
approach problems from a solution oriented posture
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
The ability to take full ownership of customer deadlines and needs, including working necessary hours to meet customer deadlines
Your CPA or CMA certification, or progress towards certification
Strong time-management skills
We also love if you have:
QuickBooks or Sage Intacct experience
A proven track record of handling high volume of deadlines and deliverables
Experience with or interest in working with customers in the healthcare space
