The ideal Property Accountant candidate will be focused primarily on maintaining fixed asset records through capital job closings into the ledger and preparation of prepaid maintenance schedules and recons. This candidate will also have other responsibilities such as process review and documentation, asset retirement projects, maintaining a positive relationship with Engineering and Operations contacts, preparation of monthly recons and variance analysis, external and internal audit liaison, query and reporting development, and other special projects.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and improve relationships with Operations and Engineering contacts
Work closely with IT to develop asset and variance queries and reporting capabilities
SME on prepaid agreements and maintaining prepaid expense reconciliation
Perform monthly variance analysis for Engineering, Network, and Operations groups
Work with external and internal auditors to provide timely support
Assist with M&A project plan
Assist with implementation of new leasing standard for facility and network leases
Simplify and interpret mass amounts of data into summarized formats for discussion
Strong understanding and experience with application of accounting theory
Knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls including accounts payable, fixed assets, procurement, property tax, and inventory
Strong understanding of US GAAP and willingness to research and resolve accounting application
Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, and JDEdwards
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, and management, to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
Proactive, flexible, independent, inquisitive, and enthusiastic
CPA preferred

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
College degree in Accounting and/or Finance and 1-3 years professional level experience; or 5+ years professional level related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
