Optimize business performance and financial results by proactively monitoring financial trends and performance metrics, responding with value added analysis to facilitate decision making. Specific duties include providing financial planning, operational review and support, budgeting, support of strategic initiatives and business development as well as capital expenditures for Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
·Performs complex data analysis to identify patterns, correlation amongst business data elements, trends and anomalies in order to generate insights into historical and future MLCV business operational performance.
·Performs complex financial analyses, including the development of cash flow projections, operating pro formas, and valuation models for existing and potential new businesses and/or investments.
·Foster trusted relationships with business leaders to proactively identify essential needs and develop business intelligence and analytic solution portfolios.
·Deliver persuasive message based on sound, thorough, fact based analysis, and logic to compel senior leadership team to act as needed.
·Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
·Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, financial statement, forecasts, etc.) taking into account company’s goals and financial standing.
·Perform business analysis using a combination of known and unknown data elements in order to create business cases for new initiatives and enhancements.
·Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks.
·Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models. Providing regular reviews of all critical initiatives that support achievement of current year financial plan.
·Track and determine financial status by analyzing results in comparison to forecasts.
·Consult with management to guide and influence long term strategic decisions making within the broadest scope.
·Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives.
·Stay informed about trends and bench marks for company related industries, utilizing networking, Internet, and trade publications as research tools.
·Research and analyze capital budget expenditures requests to ensure long term growth for the company.
·Support new business development and acquisition efforts through analyzing proposals and creating financial models for business partners.
·Consolidate and prepare annual operating and capital budgets.
·Prepare quarterly reports as needed for shareholders and board of directors.
·Prepare asset management proposals and analysis’ for numerous businesses across the portfolio including exit strategies.
·Create and analyze compensation pricing for MLCV as needed to determine market competitiveness.
·Perform analysis for business products & services pricing for a variety of industries to include gaming, hospitality, commercial and retail.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
·Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a four (4) year college or university;
·Ten plus (8) years’ experience with budgeting, financial reporting; expense analysis, cost benefit analysis, and financial statement interpretation.
·The above work experience should also include:
·Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority, and follow all relevant DGR’s.
·Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
·Must possess a deep knowledge of business ecosystem processes and trends.
·Ability to create process mapping and perform process analysis to generate operational measurement on business unit KPI’s
·Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.
·Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.
·Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.
While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to:
·A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
·A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).
