Summary: Onix Solution Architect helps customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Google’s global data center and software products. As part of an entrepreneurial team in this rapidly growing business, you will help shape the future of how technology is used in the workplace.
You swiftly problem-solve technical issues for customers to show how our products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative. You work closely with a cross-functional team of web developers and systems administrators, not to mention a variety of both regional and international customers. Your relationships with customers are crucial in helping Google grow its business and bringing our product portfolio into companies both big and small around the world.
You are a Solution Architect with excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills. Your previous experience with cloud platform and infrastructure products, search products, content/document management repository systems, and SQL-based relational databases will be on display as you engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements.
As a Cloud Platform Solution Architect, you will work hand-in-hand with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud Platform to our customers. You will help prospective customers and partners to understand the power of Google Cloud Platform, explaining technical features, and problem-solving key technical issue
Scope/Level of Decision Making: This is a non-exempt position operating under limited decision-making and supervision. Position performs a variety of assigned activities, referring more complex issues to the manager.
Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities and identify key customer technical objections. Develop a strategy to resolve technical impediments.
Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions to include such activities as supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
Work hands-on with Google's enterprise cloud platform products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments.
Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight Google Cloud Platform value proposition using techniques to include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and RFI response documents.
Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution providing “best practice” advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud Platform effectiveness.
Research, write, and deliver a statement of work documents, level of estimate documents, customer-facing proposals, and other collateral as needed within the presales cycle.
Lead knowledge transfer sessions that set up the delivery team for success, and provide ongoing guidance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems.
Lead and develop best practices for the larger Cloud Solutions Architect team.
Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree a plus.
Certification as an AWS Solutions Architect and/or GCP Professional Architect a plus.
Five years’ experience in designing and developing cloud-based applications and workloads in AWS or GCP, or the demonstrated ability to get up to speed on both of those platforms.
Demonstrated experience with cloud design patterns and service offerings within cloud platforms.
Three to five years’ experience in an Engineering, Infrastructure, or Development role, or a related position.
Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC.
Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related datastores such as Postgres.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
Skilled at working in tandem with a team of architects, or alone as required.
Prior experience in a customer-facing presales role is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Travel Expectation: Up to 50% Domestic, 25% International
