Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related area.
Must have at least eight (8) years of responsible accounting experience, four (4) of which must be in a senior supervisory accounting capacity.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to effectively and concisely communicate complex findings to a variety of key groups and individuals.

The Associate Director of Accounting (Comptroller) is a professional and administrative position at LSU Health Shreveport reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This senior level administrative position is responsible administratively for the following institutional accounting functions: general accounting, cashiers cage, collections and disbursements, travel and direct pay, and financial reporting including financial statements. Delegates the functions of specific departments to supervisors and encourages decision-making at the department level whenever possible. Incumbent must be able to lead, manage, and organize multiple accounting sections with minimal supervision and direction. Incumbent must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proven problem-solving and analytical skills required. Incumbent serves as a contact for internal and external audits and third party consultants for property records, facilities and administrative cost proposal, and the fringe benefit proposal. This position is also responsible for cash management of all bank accounts and investments. Incumbent works under the general supervision of the CFO.
