Position Summary

The Research Assistant will provide general research support to the Center for Behavioral Cardiovascular Health (CBCH) under the supervision of the Director of Research Implementation, and the Hypertension study Project Coordinator II and in collaboration with clinical coordinator personnel. The Research Assistant will support the day-to-day activities of research projects involving hypertension and participant/patient engagement.

Responsibilities

Assist with the recruitment and screening of potential research participants including interviewing participants and conducting study visits
Completes research study documents
Performs data entry
Assists in collection of paper and electronic research files
Assists in maintenance of study equipment, including troubleshooting research devices with participants
Assists with participant compensation and records
Assists with securing, processing and delivering laboratory specimens
Obtains supplies/food products from outside vendors to meet the needs of study participants
Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science and at least 1.5 yrs of related experience or equivalent in training and/or experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
The ideal candidate will be proactive, extremely organized and able to multitask in a diverse research environment
Knowledge of basic computer applications and statistical programs
Experience with physiology monitoring devices in a research setting
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in behavioral research
Knowledge of office routines and procedures, including record keeping and file maintenance
Experience with systematic reviews and publications
Other Requirements

The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made
Participation in medical surveillance program
