Associate Designer - Product Development (Apparel) for Bealls Stores

To assist in the conception, development and execution of a private brand product line for Beall’s Stores. To insure that newly developed private brand lines adhere to the objectives and the vision of each private brand.

Develop and manage exclusive private brand product and packaging from concept to in-store while focusing on the Florida customer.

Under the direction of the Brand Manager interpret trend, color, and fabric forecasts and translate into seasonal trend presentations.

Research market trends through comp shopping, runway, fashion publications, and web based services.

Work closely with Buyer to develop and present innovative product and understand the business strategy.

Collaborate with sourcing team to research and develop new fabrics, trims, and embellishments.

Create original CAD prints, product story boards, and prepares art components of PDM style sheets.

Partner with Brand Manager to facilitate fast track styles to react to business needs.

Clarifies all design elements with Technical Design and Sourcing team.

Maintains design production timelines.

Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Directs daily activities of the Design Development Assistants.

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent is required

2-5 years’ experience in Apparel Design

Strong background in Textile Design and Illustration

Technical knowledge of fabric, trims, and garment construction

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs, Gerber WebPDM, and Excel.

Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Strong retail math skills.

Confident public speaker.

Ability to thrive in a team oriented environment.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to travel as needed.
