Our Human Resource Department is deeply engrained in the functional areas of the business and partners heavily with the leadership team on critical decisions. Team members are expected not only to have the skills to analyze data and surface takeaways/recommendations, but must also lead cross-functional decision-making processes and communicate recommendations to leaders at all levels in the company. Through the intern program, we are looking to find the next wave of talent to drive these efforts.
As an intern you can work within various areas of HR to support these initiatives.
Benefits/Total Rewards: Is responsible for administering best in class solutions for benefits delivery, managing assigned vendor relationships, and direct contact customer service. They are also responsible for data management, processing benefits, researching new benefits, and implementing global initiatives to create a better working environment for Tesla employees.
Organization Learning & Development: Is primarily responsible for coordinating new hire orientation and onboarding training efforts. They are also responsible for administrating enrollment, attendance, travel, supplies and materials for orientation and onboarding programs. In addition, you will be writing and editing internal communications which will be posted on Tesla’s internal website. These team is also responsible for generating “How to Videos” for a quick tutorial on tools and resources.
Orientation and Onboarding: Intern will be focusing on the onboarding employee experience. This intern is someone who is interested in helping other and is comfortable with working with large groups of people.
Other teams include: Customer Support, Human Resources Business Partner, People Analytics & Production Training
Where You Will Work:
Because intern projects come from across the organization all candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship. Specific locations may include: Fremont, CA. Palo Alto, CA. Draper, UT. Reno, NV.
Under the HR Production Training team – roles will be located in manufacturing & production locations
3rd / 4th year student working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Communications, or business related degree
5th year Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Communications, or business related degree
Related majors include: Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Business, Data Analytics
GPA of 3.0 and above
Available for a 12-14 week internship in Summer 2019
Available to work 40+ works per week
Ability to relocate for an internship opportunity anywhere in the U.S.
Knowledge & Skills:
Self-starters who are results oriented, resourceful, analytical, innovative, intellectually curious and who take initiative and risks
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Demonstrate strong ability to embrace and adapt to change, take initiative and showcase curiosity, learn quickly in a fast paced environment
Experience and proficient in Microsoft office tools/programs
Previous work experience or internships in related field is a plus
Experience in project management is a plus
