Overview

JOB SUMMARY:
The Pricing Analyst will create the pricing strategy and manage processes and systems that enable our sales and operations teams to price effectively to our customers. The successful candidate is expected to utilize industry insight and resources to design, develop, and maintain solutions that improve overall account profit margins and drive growth of company revenue. Through detailed analysis, interpretation of business data, and strategic decision making, he/she will improve the company’s bid versus awarded lane success rate. The Pricing Analyst requires excellent customer focus, high energy and enthusiasm, forward thinking, strong relationship skills, excellent problem solving, solid execution and commitment to meeting sales and profitability objectives. The Pricing Analyst must demonstrate leadership and the ability to make decisions that are in the best interest of Trinity Logistics and our customers. Customer requirements and time commitments must be met, while also maintaining consistent and competitive pricing on all lanes.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive pricing strategy and lead price reviews on large opportunities and cross functional teams.
Subject matter expertise in the Domestic Truckload market gained through external research, benchmarking and analyzing cost drivers. Provide market intelligence and price trends. Develop deep understanding where our risks and opportunities exist.
Manage pricing activities, processes and strategic plans of the company that support the strategic vision, marketing strategies, and financial objectives.
Develops and defines appropriate price guidelines and bid strategy.
Establishes and manages approval process through regular reviews of price variance charts and metrics.
Develop and manage an RFQ/quotation process that tracks the number of bids and quotes issued vs. new business obtained.
Develop and manage a process for sales to track quotes.
Analyze and provide reporting to the various sales channels and market trends/drivers.
Understand and manage appropriate market pricing that maximizes profitability.
Coordinate with Sales/Operations and other departments to provide accurate completion of rate proposals.
Researching lane history, current load/truck ratios, and market conditions.
Lead the design, development, and rollout of new pricing analysis tools, systems, technologies
Participates in special projects and handles all other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Transportation/Logistics.
Extensive experience with rate negotiations and carrier contracting in TL - van and flatbed.
Experience in data analysis.
Superior leadership, planning and organizing skills.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications; i.e. Project, Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Office, Power BI.
Knowledge and understanding of Transportation Management Systems and other related IT systems.
Strong Mathematical Skills; Analytical and a solid mathematics foundation is required.
Ability to think strategically and is detailed oriented.
Proven track record of effectively delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
