Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented H.I.M Assembly /Analysis Technician to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.

Under the direction of the Director of Health Information Management, the HIM Assembly/Analysis Technician assembles discharge patient records and performs qualitative and quantitative retrospective review of all inpatient and Day Hospital medical records. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Completes daily check in of medical records.
Pulls previous admission charts and forwards to nursing units.
Creates folder for each record each discharge, using terminal digits and discharge date.
Assembles medical records in correct order, verifying proper I.D., and filing loose paperwork.
Analyzes records according to department policy regarding medical record documentation, ensuring valid authentication by all physicians.
Flags charts requiring aftercare faxing prior to five (5) days post discharge.
Inputs deficiency status into the incomplete record processing file of the current data system, prints and files deficiency sheet and forwards to coding.
Understands the need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, families, visitors, employees, and all other contacts.
Exhibits excellent service excellence skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, visitors, families, and referral sources.

Job Requirements

Registered Health Information Technician, RHIT-eligible, or student enrolled in a Medical Record Technician program preferred.
High School Diploma required.
Two (2) years of office/clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
Good understanding of English grammar and composition.
Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
