Sheet metal fabrication from 18 gauge up to 1/4". Assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape. Their duties include reviewing blueprints, cutting metal into the appropriate shape and smoothing molten metal to remove creases.
Must have and/or know the following:
- 2 years welding experience (mig) desirable, but willing to train the right individual
- Proficient with reading tape measure and adding fractions
- Basic use of hand tools
- Reading prints
- Use of Ox/Ac torch
- Aluminum and Stainless experience a plus, but not required.
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and take direction well.
- Must be willing to work some overtime as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Install welds, including light fixtures, vents, fans, metal sheeting and other parts.
Read an interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand.
Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions.
De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
Operate equipment following safety guidelines.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
High school diploma or GED Preferred.
Current and valid welding certification.
