Preconstruction Manager
The success of our company depends upon the efforts of each employee. Each employee shall be responsible for:
- Total Customer Satisfaction
In addition to the above, each employee shall have duties specific to his or her position. The Preconstruction Manager will report to the Senior Preconstruction Manager and will generally be assigned the responsibility of assisting with multiple projects. This responsibility could include many aspects. More specifically, the Preconstruction Manager’s position includes assisting with the following duties and responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzing required documents, blueprints, project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project and provide value engineering options.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors.
- Managing and evaluating bids from vendors and contractors.
- Using bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis.
- Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders.
- Compiling and recording actual costs.
- Comfortable meeting with clients to ascertain project requirements.
- Ability to problem solve, visualize, and conceptualize the construction process to find the best solutions for clients.
- Detailed oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at the same time.
- Must be able to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of estimating and quantity takeoff.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, Architecture, or previous experience
- At least 2 years’ experience with conceptual estimating
- Familiarity with Design/Build methodologies
