Senior Accountant
Classification: Salaried, Exempt
Purpose: The role of the Senior Accountant is to propel our clients forward with excellence by managing the accounting and finance functions in their business. The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and accurately, overseeing the work of the staff accountant, problem solving issues with the client, and assisting with reporting. Responsibilities and qualifications and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Essential Functions:
· Ensure that all client bookkeeping tasks are done accurately and on time to ensure proper financial recordkeeping
· Provide oversight of staff accountant work on assigned clients
· Monitor client accounting process for duplications or non-compliance and oversee corrections
· Work with clients to ensure relevant project ledgers, item lists, accounts receivable, and accounts payable remain accurate and up to date.
Train, develop and direct Staff Accountants engaged on client accounts to ensure high-quality work
· Ensure all client correspondence and special requests are handled timely and efficiently to ensure client satisfaction
· Primary bookkeeper for new client onboardings and accounting software conversions.
· Update and review data in company software as needed to provide draft monthly reports, weekly dashboards, and ad hoc reports to clients upon request
· Research sales tax rules in new states as required by client companies to ensure compliance
· Review accuracy of sales tax returns prepare by Staff Accountants
· Ensure conformity to Accounting Frontier’s processes and standards across clients to ensure consistency and quality of work
· Assist client with monthly invoicing process
· Assist with ad-hoc projects, research, and process improvement as needed
· Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required strongly preferred, AS degree plus experience considered
· CPA or public accounting experience preferred
· Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping role
o Small business and payroll tax compliance experience required
o Experience with QuickBooks Online, Studio Designer, or Xero a plus
· Highly proficient in MS Excel advanced formulas
· Strong ability to problem-solve, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and provide attention to detail
· Ability to provide oral and written correspondence, effectively present information, and respond to questions from customers, team members and managers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
