The Product Manager position will work with the Infrastructure and Platform group for Global Consumer Travel and Lifestyle Services. The individual will be responsible for Business Architecture and spearhead the roll-out of a next-generation application from conceptual design to implementation, training, and ongoing support and maintenance. The Product Manager will represent TLS across a number of work streams including strategy, process mapping, capabilities, people and behavior management. Accountable for pulling together key deliverables across business units. This role will liaise heavily with both internal and external partners, therefore making it extremely important this person be able to build and leverage relationships in order to drive success across cross functional teams.
Will report to the Director of Platforms and Infrastructure Responsibilities include:
Work with Leader for Product to prioritizes projects/roadmaps/requirements for technology owners to enhance systems, features, capabilities and experiences
Perform required analysis to define the scope of the product, reach/appeal of the product, define success metrics and measure performance of the product capability.
Ensure effective utilization of business and technical resources in accordance with agreed upon priorities and business objectives
Collaborate with other business departments to manage project implementation across brands, channels (online, offline, card ,affiliates) and systems
In partnership with American Express Technologies and/or external vendors, manage the analysis, build and central testing of new capabilities
Support business acceptance testing and sign-off
Create and maintain the business project plan and status reports, tracking progress against key
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
Experience working with and/or managing Travel Technology project implementations or products is highly-desirable
Superior communication and influencing skills to include writing presentations, presenting to peers and senior management, and being able to sell new ideas and solutions
Must have the ability to analyze complex travel industry processes and make changes based upon Business needs
Proven track record of consistently delivering results and operating in a matrix environment
Knowledge and experience of agile development and user interaction best practices
Demonstrated ability to lead high performing, cross-functional individuals and teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Proficiency with MS Office including Visio and MS Project is required
Possess strong written and oral communication skills demonstrated by effective project documentation, project updates and proposals for the senior leadership team and stakeholders
Must be resilient and flexible, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and rapid change
Must be a creative thinker that can combine best practices with new ideas to create compelling experiences for customers that will deepen their engagement
