The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) is responsible for managing Professional Practices Management System (PPMS) and conducting collector audits for quality assurance and compliance purposes. PPMS is a management system for collection agencies based upon developing, implementing and adhering to a set of industry-specific professional practices and policies. The CCO maintains and updates current company policies and procedures, and work instructions. They are responsible for maintaining training logs, documenting non-conformities and ensuring corrective actions. They work closely with management on data mining, data analytics, and specialized reporting of key performance indicators.
The CCO works closely with management. This role is based out of Salinas, California.
Challenges and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Compile and update written policies, procedures & work instructions for all departments
Renew PPMS certification annually
Conduct collector call and compliance audits
Review collector scorecards
Report data findings to management
Identify, track and report areas of non-compliance
Ensure the company complies with all applicable state and federal regulations including FDCPA, FCRA, HIPAA, SCRA and GLBA
Train staff on federal and state regulations
Manage consumer complaint portals and disputes
Answer compliance questions for collection staff
Create customized reports and dashboards
Support/back-up VP in managing technology communication between various software programs
Support/back-up VP in managing and troubleshooting basic I.T. issues
Desired Skills and Experience
A related Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in implementing and managing new compliance programs
Working knowledge of common IT infrastructure a plus
Microsoft office experience
FDCPA/FCRA/HIPAA knowledge a plus
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
