PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Support Chief, directors, and specialists at the Human Resources Department in order to help the department to function effectively.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
o One year of experience in similar field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Provide support for the central office Human Resources team.
o Maintain current LinkedIn, Twitter, and other websites and software.
o Design, prepare, and distribute e-mails, letters, forms, flyers, brochures, programs, handbook covers, and other materials.
o Maintain Human Resources information on web sites.
o Maintain management databases and HR software.
o Maintain supplies/equipment and coordinate purchase requisitions for the HR Department.
o Assist with preparation and distribution of materials.
o Schedule and coordinate the presentation of informational materials, workshops, in-services, and various committees related to Human Resources.
o Plan and coordinate events and professional development activities for the HR Department; order food, prepare the facilities, give tours to guests.
o Answer phone calls, emails, and Let's Talk inquiries for HR Department.
o Make copies, schedule events, etc.
o Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to organize special programs for HR Department.
o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
o Ability to analyze data
o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
o Moderate travel is required.

SALARY:
Central Office - Houston
Salary minimum: $18.50
Salary maximum: $29.35
