Job Description:

The Senior Software Developer (SSD) is responsible for development and deployment of full-stack global applications, primarily in Internet of Things (IoT), cloud, and mobile solutions. You will apply broad experience in modern software development to ensure adherence to industry standards and help build architectures that are highly scalable and maintainable. As part of a small, startup-sized team, you will take on multidisciplinary roles to understand user needs in the field, rapidly develop solutions, and deploy testable prototypes across a variety of Shell’s businesses.

Development of high-quality, concise messaging, consistent with the STW brand to clearly communicate STW project objectives and value drivers, tailored for stakeholders at a variety of levels in the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop technical solutions to complex business problems, which may include enterprise-level projects, data analysis solutions, etc.
  • Coordinate with architects and business analysts to determine functionalities
  • Design, develop and implement solutions to users’ needs and requirements
  • Develop and document design, source base and architecture
  • Design and develop logical and physical data models that meet application requirements
  • Review and improvise code
  • Run tests and fix bugs
  • Maintain and manage existing source bases
  • Continually build and share expertise from researching technologies and techniques used by the latest companies
  • Help develop our centralized libraries and coding practices to continually improve developmentProfessional Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering degree(s) with a solid understanding of computer science
  • 7+ years of experience fielding software systems as a software developer and at least 3+ years of experience designing software systems as a senior software developer
  • Expertise with spiral and agile software development in C#, .Net Core and React.js and familiarity with Node.js is preferred
  • Full stack design and development for:
  • Constrained Devices (Sensors and Actuators)
  • Gateways (Connected and Smart Things)
  • IoT Cloud Platforms (AWS or Azure)
  • Cross Stack Functionality (Security, Ontologies, Development Tools and SDKS)The following personal traits or abilities are critical for success:

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
  • Willingness to deploy to the field for up to two weeks at a time on rare occasions
  • Ability and drive to deliver on time, while working in a semi-autonomous environment
  • Ability to create and communicate an accurate schedule
  • Willingness to learn to work with the tools and solutions selected by the team
  • Insatiable curiosity to understand and improve the state of art
  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships with all levels of personnel, customers, suppliers, consultants - both internally and externally
