We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor who can hit the ground running and will be an integral part of our future growth. You will be an Off-Road Tour Guide, Machine Gun Instructor and Mechanic ... as well as the Operations Supervisor. [Think of it like a "player/coach".] You will schedule the guides/instructors, so you will also be in charge of when you schedule you.

[All of our Adventure Guides are Off-Road Tour Guides, Machine Gun Instructors and Mechanics.] Can you maintain consistent Adventure Quality Standards ? Would you describe yourself as a "MacGyver" type? We are looking for that rare person who has the right mix of skill, personality and motivation to join our Management Team.
As a Desert Wolf Tours Operations Supervisor, you will be a working year-round as an Adventure Guide as well as manage a team of seasonal Adventure Guides. Our Adventure Guides lead the pack into the Sonoran Desert in our fleet of Tomcar UTVs, where you will show guests the beauty of our backyard! Share knowledge of the plant life, wildlife, and history of the area while navigating the rocky desert terrain in our rugged, military-grade TomCars! They also lead and instruct our amazing Machine Gun Adventures, and perform light maintenance work on our UTVs under the instruction of our Crew Chief.
Your duties will be to:
· Hire and train season guide/firearms instructor staff.
· Lead machine gun adventures and UTV tours.
· Oversee the guides and instructor and ensure they are following Standard Operating Procedures.
· Anticipate problems and solve them BEFORE they occur (Critical Thinking Ability!).
· Maintain tour supply inventories.
· Review current SOPs and develop new SOPs as warranted.
· Consistently maintain our 5 Star tour standards.
· Schedule guides and instructors.
· Conduct quarterly reviews for guides and instructors.
· Be the President's “right hand man”.
· Work in cooperation with the Head Mechanic to deal with vehicle issues and trail breakdowns/recoveries.
· Keep firearms in clean and working condition, working with outside gunsmith as necessary.
· Maintain accurate ammo counts.
· Be willing to take responsibility for, and be held accountable to the tour and guide/instructor performance … and be willing to take corrective action when necessary.
· Help our Head Mechanic in the shop, maintaining the fleet in our low-seasons.
The Operations Supervisor should have the following:
- Look like a Professional Off-Road Adventure Guide - we are in the Entertainment Business and creating great first impressions are a very important part of the overall guest experience.
- Lead by Example.
- Handle "strong" personalities ... most guides and instructors have strong personalities and need a strong leader.
- Physically fit; able to consistently lift 60 lbs. - Being a Professional Off-Road Adventure Guide is a physically demanding position. You can work long hours in adverse conditions. In much the same way that athletes must be in good physical condition to compete, Adventure Guides must be in good physical condition to hold up to the day in and day out physical demands of the position over an entire season.
- An ENTERTAINING personality that can also get down to business when it's time.
- At least 2 years of verifiable experience working in a tourism or related industry.
- At least 3 year of verifiable experience in a supervisory role.
- 8 years of verifiable firearms skills [Veterans and LEO are encouraged to apply].
- A valid Driver’s License.
- A valid First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to successfully complete during training period).
- Clean Criminal History and good driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment Drug Screen with a clean or acceptable result if offered a position.
- An articulable background in outdoor activities and a basic knowledge of Sonoran Desert flora and fauna.
- Ability to operate off-road equipment and possess an understanding of 4X4 maintenance and emergency service.
- Ability to speak comfortably to both small and large groups of people.
- Ability to multitask.
- Attention to detail.
- Good critical thinking skills.

The Full-time Operations Supervisor position offers salary, gratuities and benefits. Starting salary is $50,000 per year PLUS a discretionary annual $5,000 bonus based on meeting agreed performance criteria , plus participation in the Corporate tip bonus pool which is $5,000 to $6,500 annually, plus generous tips and Customer 5 Star Review bonuses. In this industry, tip compensation is substantial. How much tip compensation you earn is directly proportional to the service you provide to the guests, but a conservative estimate is $10,000 to $15,000 per year in cash tips. You should expect to earn total compensation of $70,000 or more on an annual basis.
