We have an opportunity for a Sr Software Engineer II within the Software Engineering Directorate in Tewksbury Massachusetts. SEDs mission is to provide world class Radar Software to be used in military systems deployed at sea and on land. Our software teams employ an Agile Scrum process to rapidly design, code, integrate and test capabilities on a continuous basis into a mature solution for our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.
These positions on the Radar Software Product Line teams support the integration of the AN/SPY-6 radar, also called Air & Missile Defense Radar (AMDR), with the Navys Aegis Baseline 10. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, debugging and fixing problems with the Radar software applications, as well as supporting software integration and verification efforts. Our radar software applications are developed using C++ and Java programming languages running Linux or UNIX operating systems on a variety of computing platforms.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as within one year of employment.
6+ years in software engineering or related field
C++ Programming experience
U.S. Citizenship is required
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Strong problem solving ability
Can work independently and develop solutions to complex problems
Real-time software development experience
Clear Case/Rational Apex or equivalent configuration management tool experience
Experience in Agile/Scrum development
Experience and familiarity with RTI DDS
Software development experience in DoD environment
Strong working knowledge of Linux
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience with multi-threaded application development
Experience working in a team environment developing commercial or defense system software applications
A demonstrated willingness to dive in and research problems associated with legacy code
